8/28- JSU W 52-3... Perriloux this... Perriloux that... blah blah blah
9/6- @ BC W 24-17... CPJ's 1st ACC win
9/13- @ VT L 23-26... score a late td to beat us
9/20- MSU W 30-14... come back home & redeem ourselves on a win vs. a SEC team
10/4- Duke W 42-14... they'll be in the game until late 2nd qt
10/11- Gard.-Webb W 66-3... didn't even know they had a football team.
10/18- @ Clemson L 28-31... next week will start Clemson's annual meltdown
10/25- UVA W 35-14... not played in C'Ville (Curseville) this year
11/1- FSU W 27-13... FINALLY
11/8- @ UNC W 24-20... we finally play good in CH even though it was a close game.
11/20- Miami W 31-15... hard to say goodbye to Gardner, MJ, JWD, DR, and VW
11/29- @ UGA L 24-29... hardfought tough loss for the jackets but gave UGA everything they could handle

9-3, 6-2 in the ACC. Its NOT AT ALL impossible. We have alot of talent on this team. Gailey got us 7 wins a year... so can PJ... and with his coaching we can upset 1 or 2.

9 wins in his first season. seems like a stretch.

I'll go 7-5 with losses to VT, Clemson, UGA, BC, and FSU

Optimistically, 8-5, losses to VT, Clemson, UGA, and two of (FSU, UNC, BC, MSU), and a decisive win in a ****ty bowl.

Gailey got an upset or 2.

This is the youngest team we've had in a long, long time, on both sides of the ball.

2009 looks nice. 2008 will have its disappointments.

Didn't Vegas have our over-under for 5.5 games? I believe there is a reason there is all that money in Vegas. Although I wish we would win 13 (which we did in my first season of NCAA), I will not be disappointed if we win 6.

Did you guys not see the spring game? I say 3-9. We struggle this year, but it will get better.

Go Jackets!!

So, Duke, GW, and JSU? You don't think we steal at least one or two more?

8/28- JSU W... We win big, but ugly
9/6- @ BC L... Tough, low-scoring loss on the road. Only game I won't be in the stadium for all year.
9/13- @ VT L ... Two-touchdown loss in a tough arena
9/20- MSU W ... Close ugly win
10/4- Duke W ... The standard Duke win
10/11- Gard.-Webb W ... Easy win
10/18- @ Clemson L ... Two-touchdown win
10/25- UVA W ... We always seem to pull out a HC win
11/1- FSU L ... Really tough loss. This is our "rock bottom."
11/8- @ UNC W ... Offense takes off. Starts to click.
11/20- Miami W ... Solid win. Worse than the score would indicate.
11/29- @ UGA W ... One-touchdown win. We break the streak.

We go 8-4 overall, and 4-4 in the ACC. I think we'll be slated for something to the tune of the Car Care bowl.

Georgia will finish the season with three losses (Florida, Bama, and GT), and play in the Capital One Bowl.

Virginia Tech will beat FSU for the ACC Championship.

Undefeated Oklahoma will beat a one-loss Florida team for the National Championship.

The offense will be better than last year.

The defense will be worse than last year.

Can't predict a record without predicting injuries on one of the least deep teams I ever remember. I am not going to predict injuries.

The defense will be worse than last year.

We might be worse statistically...but I definately think we'll be more consisitent. I doubt we hold Clemson to 3 again, yet I dont think anyone puts up 435 passing yards or 40 points on us again either.

Offense will be better this year overall, but more prone to turn the ball over early.

Defense will be better than last season, but not as good as 2006.

I think 6-8 wins.

JaxSt, GW - Two wins here

Duke, Miami, UNC, UVA - Two or three wins from this group

FSU, BC, MSU - one or two wins here

UGA, VT, Clemson - one win from this group, probably Clemson who has trouble with Wake's misdirection offense

1 post GTROY, don't give him the satisfaction.

I'm sure the number of posts has some indication of a person being an idiot, but in this case not. I have posted for years on The Hive, but not here. Sorry. I have been a Tech fan all my life, and I hope we go 13-0 and win the National Championship, but I thought the question was about my honest opinion for the season. I think we will struggle. I hope not. But it is a new system, and I'm afraid it will take more than one spring and one fall camp to install it to perfection. We have a very tough schedule. Again, I hope we win them all, and I'll admit I was wrong and be glad to do it.

I was just being honest. You don't have to like my answer, but it has nothing to do with the number of posts in this case. I pull for the Jackets with all I've got every Saturday.

I have now finished my second post on StingTalk.

The reason they responded that way to you is because you used the Spring Game in any way as a measuring stick for how well we will play this season. You're talking about an intra-squad scrimmage that's four or five months removed from your first game. The spring game should have been fun to watch and good for checking out some of our talent - but to pretend that it matters even in the slightest bit pertaining to anything about the upcoming season is asinine.

Anyway.

I personally can't make myself get a feel for how well we'll do. Some days I feel like we're going to drop every FBS game we play and some days I feel like we may be playing Tampa a week after we slap the mutts all over Clarke County.

So I guess my stupid prediction goes this way: I give us the two FCS games and then take the rest of the games and split them right down the middle. We go 7-5 and then go to the Music City Bowl.

Scratch that, 14-0 National Champions. Michael Johnson wins the Heisman.
