2015 FSU v 2023 UM

Miami. 2016 game was going to OT if Lance Austin heeds PJ's advice to take a knee rather than run the kick back for a TD. We might've won anyway.

Tonight, the game was practically over and we're headed for a loss until idiot Cristobal decides to run the ball rather than take a knee. Miami was more improbable an outcome.

Major Recency Bias factoring into my response obviously lol

This one was definitely more improbable... Miami literally just needed to take a knee to end the game, but they were apparently more concerned with their RB's yardage stats (hey, at least he got to 100 yards before he fumbled!). Then, they do the one thing you absolutely can't do with a late lead and let a receiver get behind their secondary. Awesome job by our guys for not giving up, but it took two all-time screw ups on their part.

I mean the whole team had checked out I can understand why they were out of position. He’ll they probably were all playing through boners thinking about the victory orgies.

Probably had been checking out the Gold Standard thread.

I think 2015 FSU was the peak of GT football. Coming off the Orange Bowl, huge crowd of mostly Tech fans. Plus remember that FSU kicker I think had never missed in 3 years. That loss essentially killed his nfl career too as he was never the same.

2016 had some good times before the clown show arrived but I think about that 2015 environment often as what GT football can be. This is a good win but I still don't think this says GT has turned a corner. Make no mistake Miami lost this game; yes King has to make those passes but Miami just had to not be the stupidest team in history and they would have won.

I was at the FSU game - I actually think the Miami game was better - the announcers were already checked out - game was over.

Until it wasn’t.

Reminded me of the 2016 dwag game. Deep in own territory with basically no time left.

Apparently Cristobal did the same thing in 2018 against Stanford when he was at Oregon

If it were me, that's incompetence in-game. Should be grounds for a firing for-cause.

It continues to boggle my mind how a college coach (or pro) can be utterly clueless as to how much time and how many plays are left in these situations. The fact that this genius has done it twice is just hubris at this point. The fact that Miami is paying this clown nearly $9 million per is pretty hilarious.
