I don't think its possible for the 2016 offense to be worse. Lots of young guys are coming back with more experience, and a number of career underperformers on OL are departing. If JT regains his poise and decisiveness, and everybody else makes a few blocks I think this roster has the potential to put up some points. Or if nobody can block it will be the watch-JT-run-for-his-life offense again.

I was worried about the 2016 defense. Gotsis, White, Milton, and Golden are arguably our best 4 defensive players right now. Looking at who is returning, I'm less worried about the secondary than I was. The Austin twins have been somewhat inconsistent, but they are great athletes who are getting better every week. AJ Gray looks legit. A little worried about untested Step Durham and Corey Griffin. LB looks great. DE looks great. Definitely worried about DT. Unless Kallon (finally) steps up we will be starting a true Sophomore at DT with a r-Fr backup. Henderson was good enough to burn the redshirt, but that might just be a statement about how bad our depth was at this position.

Impossible to tell at this point. Could be a 6 win team, could be a 12 win team.

I don't know about the starting ABs. Those might be the starters just by virtue of experience, but weren't there like 3 or 4 guys in front of them to start the season? I would think Searcy would be in there at least.

Edit: and yeah, JJ Green too. Also Cottrell.

Edit x2: Don't get me wrong, I do like what Lynch and MLD have been doing with the ball in their hands, I'm just not sure they'll be starters next year.

I'm not too worried about AB next year. There are a ton of playmakers and enough bodies that someone has to know how to block. The guys who can block will be the ones playing. Maybe its Lynch and Lands-Davis, maybe its Green and Searcy, maybe its Cottrell and Willis. Whoever blocks best.

So sad we're talking and speculating about next year with 3 games left this season.

It's really the only thing to get excited about right now. That, and having a chance to beat UGA this year in our worst season in decades.

Not sure Henderson is big enuf for DT. We are hurting big time here. This is where most factories shop for a JC big body or 2 or 3. A R-Fr will probably be in the rotation.

Wouldn't worry too much about Step Durham. He and especially Gray are very good. Some young LB studs available too to help out PJ.

Offense will be scary good if JT stays healthy and Butker is back.

They are all important, but this Spring is especially critical.

Henderson is literally the largest defensive player on our roster. Bigger than Gamble and Gotsis.

based on this years spring training......i believe QW may start over some of the others listed at the BB or AB positions

The Simmons kid who transferred from USC will be a factor in the defensive backfield.

quaide was an early enrollee, which is why he had a leg up on many of the other backs. he may just be better than those other guys, but that advantage is now gone.

Not based on standing next him after the FSU gm. He is in the mold Shawn Green/ Grady Jarrett but dude didn't even look 280lbs

I hope someone steps up over PJ Davis. Sure he makes a lot of tackles, but all seem to be 7 yards downfield. We need better ability to take-on and and shed blocks from our LBs.

Brant Mitchell looks like he has the size and instincts to be legit for us.

A couple of changes from the initial post. Simmons is a playmaker, from all accounts, so I'm not too worried there. Durham has looked spotty, but we've got some really talented redshirting freshmen at CB, along with Lance Austin, so we'll have some competition for that spot.

Our safeties have honestly been pretty disappointing, so I think a guy like AJ Gray could be a step up, and Griffin should be okay if he shores up his tackling.

We are crazy deep at A-back. I think the 4 man rotation will be Green, Searcy, Lynch, and Lands-Davis, but guys like Cottrell could easily find a spot, and Willis will still be there if we need him.

At WR, it wouldn't surprise me if Harland Howell and/or Christian Philpott make a move. I think Jeune is pretty entrenched (although he could block better), but Summers has never been consistent, and Stewart just doesn't have the size we normally see at WR>

If we can iron out some OL issues, I think our 2016 offense will be really good. Our skill position players should be the most talented since 2009.

Making a bowl game and getting the extra practices would be nice. Just need to close out the season with 3 in a row.
