One-and-Done rule is so horribly stupid and arbitrary. They should abolish it. Then the top recruiting schools wouldn't know what to do...

The top schools would still clean up, but it's true that scholarship numbers would keep schools like Kentucky from signing five of the top 20 players ever year if they had the expectation of keeping these guys multiple seasons, which would help out the rest of the country a bit.

Thanks for keeping this updated. I don't follow basketball recruiting very closely, but it's clear its a major weakness. This year's class may make-or-break CJP's future as a P5 basketball coach.

If they got rid of one-and-done many of the top 20 players every year would go straight to the NBA, not go to UK and stay for several years.

But I agree that the net effect would be quite similar. The players right behind the ones that go straight to the NBA will need several years to get good enough to go pro, and that will fill out rosters at the powerhouses and give programs like ours a better chance at recruiting them.

Yanovic may be our best bet.

Sad how our recruiting absolutely sucks.

Given our location there is no reason our recruiting should be this bad. Gregory had no recruiting skills. Pastner may have been able to recruit at Memphis but his complete lack of judgement has made him ineffective here. Devoe and Alverado are the only ACC level players he has signed. We deserve better.

Banks is our best player. Jury still out on Devoe but he looks meh. Alvarado is not ACC caliber.

I don't count Banks as a recruit. We just got lucky that he wanted to come back to Atlanta.

It would have been better for our program and Banks' chances for the NBA, if he had not been granted a waiver. This season was destined for disaster with or without him.

What makes you think next season will be better? We got nobody coming in except for some Russian juco kid...

I do not think next season will be better. I think it will be worse. However, if Banks had not been granted a waiver, he could have played during the 20-21 season when we may be better if we change directions.

Meanwhile, our only signee isn't starting for his JUCO team and is shooting 34%. Hope he develops but looks like a reach right now.

Time for Pastnor to go, he is not the big time recruiter everyone thought he was.

He has been on campus for months. Only played a few games for his JUCO team before multiple D1 teams offered him. He left ASAP so he could be eligible sooner at Tech.

Really? That's the first I've heard of that and folks on another site reported those stats. I will check into that.
