And USCe behind by 5 with 5 to play.
Make that down by 4
Make it down 4 with 4 to play.
CSU bogey! Back to 4th! Their last guy is on the last hole.
USCe down 3 with 3 to play
A par or worse on this last whole for CSU's last guy would be huge for us.
Boom! CSU in the clubhouse one stroke behind us in 5th. We should be in good shape now.
A lot closer than it needed to be.
USCe now tied with CSU with one golfer (counting towards their score) left on the course!
USCe's #1 pars 18 to force a playoff with CSU for the 5th spot. They hit 5 birdies on the last 6 holes. Glad CSU had that late birdie, so that we didn't have to worry about that last hole.
Phew. When’s the playoff. Rooting for CSU.
We were in (by far) the most competitive regional.
UNC, Duke, Wake, Louisville & Clemson all advance (F$U, NCSU & UVA eliminated)
Looks like #15 Texas Tech is highest seed eliminated. There were a few others in the 20s (and USCe #17 in the playoff).
Ga Southern and SMU only unseeded teams to advance.
Looks like usc lost the playoff.
Why do you say that? I imagine they’d only do it after all the teams finished.
Because they moved the redline between the two teams. Maybe I misread the score sheet
Checked their twitter. 5:45 EST tee off for the playoff.
If I’m not mistaken, there will also need to be an individual tie breaker. The winner was from BYU so will advance anyway with the team. But there was a tie for 2nd between a guy from USF and UCSB. So they’ll have to playoff to see who advances.
Edit - scratch that they’re still on the course. UCSB kid now up a stroke.
Can’t find anything on golfstat about the playoff. But USCe Twitter is still posting updates. 3 guys from CSU and two from USCe in the first wave.
Hell of a comeback by USCe to force the playoff and it looks like they took advantage.
