Some rough scores on the course so far. Only two of the 12 teams who've teed off are under par. #24 Illinois was +7 as a team on the first hole. I think this benefits us with a harder course.

Half the field (15) is on the course. Nobody better than +4. Granted all the Top 15 teams are teeing off this afternoon.

Course looks like it is playing a lot more difficult than the one we played for regionals - though the scoreboard of most of the regionals looked closer to this one than to ours.

On the board with 2 pars to start.

    30. Cuts to 15 after Sunday and 8 after Monday. Then match play for the top 8.

Just brutal. Making the finalists have to play 7 rounds of golf in 6 days.

Agreed. BUT, at the same time I WISH I had to play (or had time to play) 7 rounds of golf in 6 days.

:eekfacepalm: To be fair, it is brutal to have to play competitive golf like that, but yeah ...

The scores are brutal. Is this the toughest course in the country? Why was it chosen? Just the logistics to get to Fayetteville would be challenging.

Ever hear of Wal-Mart? Pretty easy to get to that airport. Lots of suppliers going there every hour on the hour.

Yes. I have flown into the Bentonville airport on a KingAir. I still do not believe Fayetteville is a high volume airport. I guess WalMart ponyed up to get the tournament.

Is this course affected by the floods or something? Surely 70% of the course must be water hazards for scores this bad.
