2019 Recruits

This yrs recruit class so far is about what it has been-- pretty avg- really need some more big guys (DL and Ols)--at one time the biggest recruit was a QB

Well, our best players on defense are
Freshmen. So that’s a good sign for the future.

Need vast improvement at the DL and Linebacker positions.

I heard we had our I eye on this kid to shore up the kicking game.

I've got thoughts.

So, we've got 15 commitments so far (13 3 stars; two 2 stars) and we probably end up with 18 or 19. No four stars yet, but our average ranking puts us 8th in the ACC, ahead of Pitt, Duke, Wake, Louisville (Petrino ded?), UVA and Syracuse.

Strong class in terms of DB's and QB's IMO. We've got two 6 ft plus DB's and a QB in Jordan Yates who is a very good passer and a true dual threat.

Big guys for the line include OL Larry Dowdy (6'4 285) DT's Joshua Black (6'3" 265) and Jamal Camp (6'2" 275). I expect one of those to be converted to O-line maybe.

As far as what's out there, I know we're waiting on a pretty highly regarded DE, but everything's been really quiet, lately. We are looking at one or two kickers, but I don't believe we've offered any yet.

About average for us.
but-WE need linemen.Big linemen.
At one time a QB (after 4 commits )was the largest guy at 216.
This season is not going to excite many for sure.Hope we can hold our best ones.

Last night I was at the Monroe Area-Morgan County game and a couple of Tech coaches were there scouting Monroe Area's QB Chandler Byron. Byron is an underrated QB that hasn't received any D1 offers yet but he was the Region player of the year last season and already rushed for almost 1000 yards in his first 4 games. Don't know if Tech will give him an offer, but I would love to see him get a shot at the next
level.
