Lots of reasons in addition to Key being a bonafide coach. Key is a legit recruiter, as well. Batt understands the landscape and enough high rollers have stepped up to create competitive NIL.

Tim McFarlin is also paying off, I think. Credit to Errin Joe as well. This is less about getting broad early attention with gimmicks like the last regime, and more about closing, which has not been a strength for us since CJ.

The Clown got a lot of great recruits until people realized he didn’t know how to coach.The same kind of unknowns with Coach Key. Let’s hope he can coach and this sustain the recruiting momentum.

Coach Key convinced me that he was a solid coach last year. I don't follow recruiting as closely as many people, but it seems to me like Coach Key is a solid recruiter, too. In addition, it seems like he's put together a solid staff. It also seems like President Cabrera and AD Batt are giving Coach Key the support he needs. I don't remember when I viewed Tech's football program in such a positive light.

I agree with this. I think Cabrera is the key player. Having the head of school be passionate and on board is necessary.
