Poll to gauge the change in confidence as the season goes along.

NC State: 5-5 / ESPN FPI -1.4 (-8.9 YTD)
GT: 6-4 / ESPN FPI 6.5 (+4.4 YTD)

GT ESPN FPI Win Probability: 76.6% (+40.7 YTD)
ST Pre-Season Win Probability: 62.6%

Trap game, anyone? Hopefully the team recognizes this game is crucially important for bowl selection and prepares accordingly. The woofpack has had a tremendous drop from their preseason rankings/expectations. Their 5 wins are not very impressive. I like our chances.

We are not a team that has shown consistency. We have one last opportunity to demonstrate it on Thursday.

With a win we will solidify a better session than last year, go undefeated at BDS, and head into the U[sic]GA game with nothing to lose.

Lose and we'll need to beat U[sic]GA to avoid finishing 1-4 and feeling like we're standing still at best and going backwards at worst.

Let's take care of business on Senior Day.

This is the essence of a youngish team under a youngish coach. I am hoping that CBK can assert his culture of competing and winning onto the team

He can prove to be a superior coach if he can do it. If not, then can still be a good coach bit may need more time to become more of a coaching veteran.

I think he can do it.

The 2 QB strategy probably caught Miami off guard, but NCS will be ready with different approaches when King or Philo is playing. They will expect that King won't be throwing downfield, so they only need to defend short passes and running, while Philo is more likely to throw longer passes but not be the running threat. If injuries don't limit our play calling, I think our offense will still move the ball on them, but we were looking pretty beat up by the end of the Miami game.

Assuming King is still injured, Pyron needs to get a couple series in lieu of Philo to see if he can recapture the magic. We shouldn't throw a game away to save a redshirt but, at the same time, we shouldn't throw a redshirt away if we have a capable alternative. If Pyron still doesn't have it, sure, burn the redshirt and get the win.

Playing Pyron just has so much upside. Including forcing U(sic)GA to gameplan for 3 QBs instead of 2.

Pretty sure we will win but a game against a below-the-radar team sandwiched between 2 top 5/10-ish teams is unsettling.

We won't lose but I think it'll be one of those games where we just punch the clock and go home afterwards.

If by "clock" you mean the opposing QB, then I'm all in

I think Pyron is hurt more than King, at this point.

I hadn't heard that. Stinks. Philo redshirt is a goner if so, I guess.
Pyron got rekt at the end of the ND game. Was surprised they left him on the field, honestly, but it was just one more play (the failed 2pt). I assume that’s what we’re talking about here.

We need to win now, so play everybody you need/that can contribute, rather than worrying about 3 years from now. With all the portal/NIL stuff, who can even predict who will still be on the team in 3 years?

With today's transfer rules making it less likely a player stays 4 more years, we shouldn't worry about a redshirt.

I’d like to think we’d pony up for great qb once we found one. No guarantee, obviously. But it’d be dumb to just throw a redshirt away for no good reason.

Injuries may make it a moot point in this case, apparently. :dunno:

This is likely the case.

2nd chance probability is 0.737, an increase of 18% from the pre-season poll.

Optimism is back, baybee! Let's gooooooo!

I think this is mostly because NCS finished 9-4 (6-2) last season, so the pre-season polls expected the Wolfpack to be better than they turned out to be this year. We're more optimistic that NCS will lose than we were at the start of the season.
