Offense
Bennett- he has alot to prove but I think the gator bowl wasn't a fluke and i think he's ready to become the full time starter.
Thomas- We WILL miss Calvin but Be-Be will ease the pain. He looks so much like Calvin in his uniform. I think he'll be our leading receiver by the end of the year. Not taking anything away from james johnson.
Earls- Kelly Campbell all over again. The guy is fast as lightning and very shifty. He'll make you miss and he'll be hard to take down in the open field.

Defense
M.Johnson- if he's healthy he'll be starting by season's end and he'll be our best dlineman by season's end. He's lanky but and those long arms should get in the way of paasing lanes for opsing offenses. Saved the maryland game for us last year.
Barnes- he needs to get some experience but the guy has to be itching to lay wood on somebody this year. He has good size at 6'4 240. He'll be a good outside linebacker.
Burnett- Wheeler is already impressed with this guy. He's the real deal. Has good safety size at 6'1 185. He and Butler, another true frosh, should get lots of pt this year.

I expect Michael Johnson to be a badass, so that shouldn't be a surprise.

Barnes has to first win the starting job before he can become a surprise.

Burnett will most likely be a special teams player with both starters back at safety.

We are desperate for help at ST. Barnes can be a difference maker at ST alone. Burnett too!

3 Surprises on Offense:

1. Thomas - I think he will have a great year
2. Smith - will be a fine possession receiver
3. Grant - Bond will find ways to get him the ball

3 Surprises on Defense

1. Richard - last year he was getting back to form after injury. This year he will be dominant
2. Guyton - will lead the team in tackles
3. Word-Daniels - will be most improved player on D, making fewer big mistakes than last season (we need him to be strong, CB is the most critical question on the team)

I think Wheeler will make big plays, many tackles for losses. But weakside LB where K-Mike played gives a lot of opportunity for tackles. I am not sure Gary is as quick as K-Mike, but I think he may be stronger and harder to block. I think he is a good bet to be leading tackler.

actually Gary is much quicker and faster

On Offense:

Quincey Kelly - Filling in for Cox some and running the rock some around the goal line.

Correy Earls - He will be a lot like Kelly Campbell in terms of speed and production.

Jamal Evans - He will spell Choice and make some big runs at key moments.

On Defense:

Joe Gaston - 4 years of pent up energy will be unleashed; fear the torpedo.

Derrick Morgan - This dude is a man and when he gets in there he will bring some pain.

Vance Walker - cat quick and strong as a bull he will stuff the run and pressure the QB all day long.

Just my thoughts at the present.

Go Jackets!
