I remember when I had to pronounce McDonough on the radio and I wasn't sure how to say it. Someone called in and said, "you must not be from Georgia."

I know that was directed at RF, but I'm going to answer too. :)

We ran pretty much the option in HS, and while the option downs were fun, the passing downs, and called fullback up the gut plays were a break for me. Not that you didn't have to work, but defending the pocket for a few seconds or just getting a good push was a lot easier that getting up field and on a LB/DB.

That said, knocking the snot out of a little smart mouth DB were some of my happiest moments on the field. :)
 
I was a center in HS and usually had the biggest guy on the other team to block as a noseman in a 5 man line. I was very happy to have pass plays where I could "rest". I loved it when we played an even man line and I got to chase linebackers around instead of play sumo. But I was a smallish, quick lineman.
