OMG we just sucked on 3rd and long! I mean it's like UM messed up on 1st & 2nd downs to get into this situation. Particularly on that 95 yd drive in the 4th. You're telling yourself "now's when GT will stop them", but sure enough, they let UM take it on in. Thanks goodness for our final time-killing drive.

As far as TM, I counted at least 4 times when he had the chance to give the ball to the B back for significant gain but held it and was smashed for a loss. Come on man!

Agree on the 3rd down defense, that was so frustrating watching us kill them 1st and 2nd down and then give up 10+ yards on 3rd over and over.

Taquan definitely missed a number of reads, and I saw PJ chew his ass at least once for what I can only assume was not turning up field for a 2-3 yard gain and instead continuing to run sideways and taking a 2 yard loss. He made some great plays last night as well, but you'd really hope for better decision making out of a senior qb.

TM missed some pitches for long gains because he’d rather keep it for no gain.

He’s a ball hog. No doubt about it.

The 3rd down conversions on the 95-yard drive were pretty frustrating for sure. But I think only one of them was really poorly defended. They had a really good catch on a poorly thrown ball on one, and broken tackles on a couple of others.

We had good pressure on the QB but were unable to contain him in those key situations.

Yes, our weakness on defending the sideline routes was obvious on 3rd down. Don't really like the "prevent" look we showed a few times with 3 rushing and 5 back at the first down marker and the 3 dbs in lala land. If they throw underneath and break one tackle they have the first down.

FWIW, our 3rd and long defense wasn't as bad as the stat sheet looks. We had guys in place to make plays several times and flat out missed tackles, eapecially on the QB. Mitchell missed a wide open unblocked sack I believe on a 3rd down. We did a really poor job covering the swing pass every time they ran it. We had nobody covering it. Don't know if that was blown assignments or bad defensive calls.

I alao agree on the bad reads by Marshall. I know at least 3x I saw that Howard would have gotten 7+ yards if he would've given it but he kept and got no gain.

We have to get the missed sacks(tackles) figured out before UVA because that QB isn’t 165 lb player. He’s a big physical QB. It is going to require our rushers to breakdown, wrap up and get his ass to the ground!

I have no idea how you have not been elevated to our head coach with such genius observations.

You realize, dumbshit, the other team comes to play too? You realize that these plays are split second decisions? Do you realize that the view TM has of the field is limited to right in front of him? I know you probably think that the game should be played like it is Madden or something, but the view on the field from a QB's perspective is much different from your view from the stands. Of COURSE you can see where he should have gone, but you don't have 350lb DL's and 250lb Miami LB's chasing you during the game.

How about stop being a miserable SOB and enjoy the victory. Yes, we should have been able to wrap up the QB for losses a few times on Miami's last drive. We were there. We actually saw it. How about just enjoying the victory.

I am so lucky to sit where I sit. I don't think I would last very long sitting around some of the dumbasses we have for fans. The folks sitting around me are all pretty knowledgeable and cool.

He also isn't as fast as Miami's QB and won't be able to step out of a potential sack as quickly as Miami's QB

He got tackled from behind twice by guys who shed their cut blocks on the backside. You're a dumbass if you think that a) he had any way of knowing those guys were there or b) he should be looking BACKWARDS to try to time his pitch instead of down field.

We were dominating that game. Your comment is ööööing stupid, but even if you were right, in fine with some ball hogging in that situation rather than doing something risky to kill our momentum.

That said, I do think he missed a few mesh reads. If the unblocked guy is making the tackle, something is wrong.
