#46 in ESPN pre-season FPI

I'm surprised the media would put us so high after getting burned by our season last year.

I don't understand how we do so well in FPI given our ESPN recruiting rankings which have a significant factor in the equation. I'll take it though. I'm not saying 46 is great...obviously...but we consistently are pretty well regarded by FPI.

I think it's our ball-control and efficiency.

Without validating, I would say 46 is about out average pre-season. I think they expected last year was an aberration.

GT was #23 last season. Last season also had 5/10 teams from the SEC

Could have been worse. I would say it will only get better from here, but I would have said the same thing a year ago too.

It's not as if FPI really matters anyway.
