and you punt?

Would love to hear the explanation for this call, Coach. Would enjoy hearing the HC thoughts that went through your head before you decided to send the P out there. Just explain to me, the fan, why you thought Punting was better than a long FG try or going for it.

We don't know when to punt, when to kick a FG, when to go for it, when to call a time out, what play to call after a time out, or where the nearest Waffle House is. In short, we don't know öööö.

IMO, our game plan was to run as much clock as we could as evidence by the TOP which was in GT's favor. CGC and our OC wanted to do all they could to hold the score down as much as they could and as evidenced by the plays that were called. Thanks to UGA CKS's leniency in calling off the dawgs midway through the third quarter till the end of the game (UGA had their 3rd string in the game in the 4th quarter) this was accomplished. It's a shame when your own coaching staff doesn't play to win and give your SA's a chance to be competitive. SMDH!!!

I’ve never seen GT play with such coaching cowardice. I’ve never seen a coaching staff with such an obvious objective to avoid another record setting poor performance at the sacrifice of abandoning all hope to win the game—- which last time I checked was the obvious and only goal.

The UGA announcers made fun of it. “Georgia Tech said in the first quarter “No mas. We don’t want to play this game.”

50+ yard field goal seems like a non-starter given our kicking situation.

I agree. Our kicking game is so unforgivably bad that any time we line up for a kick of more than about 45 yards, we probably have a better chance of surrendering points or ending up on Sportscenter's 'Not Top 10' than we do actually making it. In a sea of bad options, I think we should have gone for it... very little chance we would have converted, but down 24 and likely to net very little on a punt, it seems like the most sensible call.
