5 POSITIVES and 5 NEGATIVES

My SIXTH positive of the game. Can't believe I hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere yet (although I'm sure it has been mentioned): the play and enormous improvement of #2, Mario Butler! Man, oh man has he come a long way or what?! Very impressed with his performance.

A positive for me. While Josh didn't have the overall game I was looking for he carried the team on his back those last two drives for field goals. He refused to lose and demonstrated he is real leader.

Another positive we won against a tough rival when we did not play that well.

Great coaching over all.

Negatives

We need to learn to handle speed on defense.

Need a bigger push on the line on D. That will come. I think we should have gone bigger at times but did not for some reason.

Need a kickoff returner who is dangerous. Orwin who will be a good back for us is just to slow. Where was our little guy? Hurt?

Clemson read our deep passing game well. Paul needs to install some more middle routs and adjust to that quicker. We will see this defensive style again.

Our DLine played fine. Feel comfortable there. Wish Robert Hall would make more of a statement but I don't see it as a big concern yet.

My positives in order were:
1.) Team's character/heart
2.) Scott Blair
3.) Derrick Morgan. Holy **** this guy is a TITAN. And I'm not talking about the football team.
4.) PJ's coaching ability mainly the two special team plays. genius.
5.) Anthony Allen emerges as a legit weapon.

Negatives:
1.) No killer instinct
2.) offensive playcalling was mind boggling at times. We should have scored a 4th TD to make it 28-0. And the calls to end the half were ****ing stupid. First time I was seriously disappointed in what PJ was calling. If we are going to pass, we need to find some high percentage short passes to allow Josh to get into a rhythm.
3.) Run blocking in the middle. We got to figure out how to play against big physical DLines or get the personnel who can.
4.) Not utilizing our playmakers on the outside of the field.
5.) 3rd down efficiency. Terrible. To me this goes back to playcalling.

You're right about third down efficiency and play calling. GT didn't convert thirds cause they were almost ALL long ones. It's tough to get those.
