5 true Frosh may play

Also heard CCG say this on the Chan Gailey Show earlier today. From what I heard Evans and Bowen will see a good bit of playing time this year. He mentioned 3 others but I forgot who they were.

I'm really surprised by Bowen. He not only was switching to LB from S in hi school but is also a little under-sized.
of course this a 2 edged sword.What happened to T Tucker,Braman?

Tucker, Chambers, and Bowen are the 2nd string.
Braman and Griffin are 3rd string. Griffin will be a menace on special teams this year.
Tongo and Barnes are being forces to redshirt.

Bowen is no different in size than KMike. KMike is 6-0, 225, and Shane is 6-1, 220. By comparison, Wheeler is 6-2, 225 on a good day.

Tucker missed some practice time in the spring and this summer to focus on academics...he is hanging in there and I applaud his efforts.

Shane Bowen is the real deal...Tenuta is a HUGE fan of Bowen. Think Keith Brooking...who was actually 6-1, 190 when we signed him as a LB and was 6-2, 210 as a freshman.

I like the potential for him to like a Keith Brooking. If thats so we have some special years ahead of us for our defense.
