Got kicked out of that game.....watched the kick from the Georgia Theatre. It was on afterwards.
 
I had two GT interns working for me at the time, and I was there at the game. Monday after the game, they gave me a cut of one of the uprights that were taken down by the student body and marched to the lawn of the president. I have no idea who or how it got cut up, but it is the best GT souvenir I have - it sits proudly on my fireplace mantel in the basement, labeled 51-48.

I'll tell you how it got cut up, we sat in the president's front lawn (who bought us all pizza by the way) with hack-saws cutting it up one foot at a time. As I remember, we only had a few saws so once a person cut a section, they passed it to the next person. Took forever, but I still have my piece of that goalpost. Best part was taunting the Ga fans sitting in their cars in traffic as we paraded by with the goal post. What a game!!!
 
My dad brought back part of that goal post, with the score written in sharpie. It sat on top of our kitchen cabinet for a while. Wish I could have found/kept it after he passed.
 
I recall that my fraternity brothers brought an acetylene torch to help cut it up. I got a 16 inch section. I made some nice plaques for Christmas gifts that year.
 
Did the same with goalposts at the 98 UVA game. Carried it to presidents lawn, cut up with torch. Had about a 4' section in the Kappa Sigma house with the letters burned into it. Don't know if it's still there or not.

That was a fumble. Dumb asses should have kicked the field goal.

The worst call in that series was the BS pass interference on Brooking.

Worst call in the series? That's a really long list. Trying to rank them is downright depressing.
 
I would still like to see us beat them at Grant Field before the End of the Age.
