HONORABLE MENTION
DEFENSE: Jamal Lewis, S, Georgia Tech, (25)

Congrats to these players! They deserve it!
Let's make sure honoring them doesn't get overlooked with all the hub-bub going on.

We need to play this Phillip Weaver more. He's 2nd Team All-ACC and I haven't seen him play a down. That type of coaching gets you fired.

That's a lot of talent to only get 4 conference wins.

I hate to do this, but I really do wonder what would've been had #22 been healthy all year.

Obviously the coaching decision to depend on one player like that was not a good one.

Congrats to all those guys.
If any of you are reading this. Thanks for the year!

I think those choices are very fair and congrats to them all. Jamal Lewis did not have a great year. It may be because he was asked to do too much or that he tried to do too much or that he was hurt for the whole season, but at least he got honorable mention.

Wheeler should have stayed at OLB in my opinion, but put him on another decent defensive team and he's first team.

K-Travis Bell, Georgia Tech (64)
P-Durant Brooks, Georgia Tech (126)

Your offensive co-MVPs!

I'll admit it. The first word that came to my mind when I saw this list was "squandered".

A very talented team that deserved better coaching decision making.

The only problem was QB play.

QB play decides whether you live or die in NCAA and NFL these days...the offenses put incredible amounts of pressure on them.

You can have all the talent in the world elsewhere...but without a great QB you will go nowhere special. (i.e. Miami, FSU, etc.....conversely Kansas, Missouri, etc.)

Red, in my opinion, Chan will go down as a mediocre coach mainly because he did not get the right quarterback in. He did fine in every other position but quarterback. And really he got what he deserved by relying on a safety and a guy who had played one year of football at the most important position in football.

Completely true. I don't think the game day coaching or game planning were a big problem this year.

That said Chan was fired yesterday in large part because he's a former college quarterback, NFL quarterback coach, and former NFL offensive "guru" (laugh but its true), and never produced a good quarterback in 6 years for GT.
