Have you seen the weight room? Alabama has a coach at every platform during weightlifting. They get away with it because they aren't staffers.
 
So, it appears, it is NOT against NCAA rules?

Then what is the problem, except for people being upset with Saban running every single detail of his program?

Probably be better if his only concern was how many yards rushing his team had in a game.

My guess is that Saban's first "specialist" at a new job is someone who combs the rule book looking for every possible nook and cranny that can be legally exploited for an advantage.

The second one pays the players.
 
I work in the Alabama athletic department as an athletic physical training specialist. I do not report to Nick Saban, but am paid through the athletic department. I am now assisting the football S&C coach without being on staff. Alabama isn't the only school that does this, but it probably one of the ones with deepest pockets.
 
So many pseudo-coaches we've got one on StingTalk...
