Mike Maloof, nephew of the great George Maloof (who I think still has the record for most TDs in a game vs UGA) passed away this morning. Great guy who was diehard Tech all the way.

Condolences. I know what the Maloofs have meant to the Tech family. George coached at St. Pius for many years and died nine years ago--s member of the great '51 team. We've lost many of those.

I have seen him at many Tech games over the last 15-20 years.

Very sad :(

Two fine members of the Tech family. They will be missed.

Well, this is almost too much.

I had read about Thomas Lozano passing away, but I never knew this was the same young man I would see at every GT football game until I saw his picture on the GT Facebook site. This breaks my heart. We would always exchange a smile and pat on the back as I passed him on my way to my seats. What a brave and courageous man.

And now Mike Maloof. What a great family. George Maloof was a coaching genius. I know GT tried to get him on staff (one time as Frosh HC for sure) but the timing was always off and he would not leave St. Pius shorthanded.

Prayers to both the Lozano and Maloof families and friends.
