I loved the old coach and embraced the new one. i believed in his recreuiting.

Going in, i was not sold on any o scheme from temple or what i’ve seen in 2.5 yrs here. It’s todays hs offense that replaced 1995s. But 1995’s at least had a valid scheme and over-performed many times.

it’s a four year coaching process. Relax. Nothing happens in the off season.

that said, we have some athlete’s now and are severely under-performing.

the word rebuild should never be used after this year. Stfu about rebuild or cpj. It’s in the rearview mirror and a distant memory

the success or failure of the next 1.4 years are fully on cgc, not any asst. it’s cgc’s staff and choices. Get off the fire thacker or pnode train. Keep em all after 4 years or fire them all after 4.

moving out coords to give a head coach a couple more years is NEVER a recipe for future success. Do NOT remove a coord and give the hc another 2 years, it WILL NOT be the answer. It’s an excuse for ALL programs.

we are wasting gibbs and sims, to this point. Nothing i will hate more than seeing sims successful in the nfl and have 9 college wins to show for his time here.

the evidence of regression can clearly be seen in the secondary. Tariq, jt, swills went from a very good a d promising secondary to a liability in a few years??

We have made zero progress from a defensive-minded head coach and that is clearly cause for concern. Forget any stupid fire thacker discussion. It’s cgc and his staff. It’s one entity. They are a bundle.

again, it’s a four year process. Buy 14 months supply of brown liquor and let’s see where this goes.

Very nice post.

Except IIRC, this is only CGC's first full season. Couldn't recruit for 2019, so those were all CPJ's 3O players. 2020 was The Wuhan Flu.

So the rebuild continues for The Hardest Transition In The History Of The World.

The rebuild really only begins in a couple of years. The 30 is like cancer…all vestiges of it and the prior staff must be exterminated before the rebuild can even start. We have to burn all bowl trophies and any other reference to those dark times. The last staff recruited Tre for instance. So Tre and all in his class, touched at all by the last staff, must be gone before the most historic rebuild ever can begin to commence. Everyone here should be grateful. It’s a miracle Tech hasn’t gone winless since CGC took over. Give him praise not hate.

Give it a rest already.

I had hoped, realistically, to play .500 ball this season. I sti don't know why, to this day, we have been so inept in Charlottesville for the past 30 seasons-ish.

The VT game was there for the taking. The damn first TD they got should have led to a wholesale ass chewing and a coming to Jesus meeting with the defense.

Sims and Gibbs continue to be the bright spots on offense. The OL seems to have regressed. If we are just physically overmatched, just say so. We either couldn't block their DE's yesterday because of our poor strength and slowness or we just refused to. VT played very wide with their DE's yesterday. Expect to see it again next week. We apparently cannot adjust to block that lineup or are just plain too slow.

It is distressing to see Sims having to run for his life, again, like he had to do so often last season.

Just stop being a damn pussy for once in your ööööing life. Discuss football or STFU.

Pussies are the ones that get their wittle feelings so butthurt. Stop talking like you are tough behind a keyboard. I know you are soft. Everyone here can see it.

Want some football realities. Tech has enough talent to win half of the games on their schedule this year. Subpar coaching has led to inferior results.

Want some football talk? (Nah you really only want to hear from people that 100% agree with your snowflake opinions)

Want Tech to be in the upper half of the ACC? Gotta have better coaching and gotta have play makers on the lines of scrimmage. LOS is where Tech lags and has always lagged in talent. Until those two things are resolved .500 or better doesn’t look likely. But it’s easier to fix the coaching problem than the LOS talent gap. Collins hasn’t shown he can do either.

I don't have to just talk. I will bring it whenever you wish, pussy.

It’s not rocket science. CGC is not HC material. And with the exception of about 20 players, the rest of the roster is not really P5. Only 1-2 are top 25 program players. Add that together and you get what we got—-a bad football team.

He needs to become a CEO and concentrate on getting the best quality staff we can afford. Dabo is a pretty mediocre coach who surrounded himself with good coordinators. I'm not sure we have any good coordinators, although I lean towards TC being a keeper.

I realize the circle jerk has increased amongst those “fans” that hate CGC, but let’s at least talk reality.
There is not a single fan that believes we are in year 1. There are some that claim we are in year 2 of recruiting since CGC was only on staff 1 month before signing day (myself being one). There are many that understand there’s no reason to judge success/failure until year 4 knowing also CGC will be here until at least after year 5.

Is it possible we already have the best coordinators we can afford? We are going to have to take a risk with whomever we hire next at our pay scale.

Pretty much. The constant firing of our HC is stupid unless you have the means to hand GT the funds for a buyout AND to attract another staff. Not sure if any of you are Jeff Bezos, but if you are we need a lot of work on the program pretty much everywhere.

Starting with, we replaced AMC, shoot $900 million out and rebuild BDS. Take down Wardlaw. Keep the view of the city.

We have a designated section at Bobby Dodd to resolve these disagreements. Bets will be made and the losers will have to pay. Consumption of urine is usually required.

Agreed. Shouldn’t fire the coach unless you already have his replacement. And his replacement better be a big name coach that will draw talent. Not to mention all the other things involved with attracting talent.

Yep. Been a GT fan my entire life. Unless we have a huge influx of cash, we would be looking at a retread coach at best.

Disagree with judging success and failure. Even if we’re not firing him, I would hope there are some realistic goals that he can be accountable to. And I would expect he’s falling short of the same.

Held accountable how? We can’t fire him. We can’t lower his pay. Now, what he does in year 4 is going to determine what his goals need to be in year 5. That’s about as much as you can hold him accountable to.
