A factor supporting the ACC expansion was the possibility of 2 BCS teams...it hasn't happened yet, but this year there is a distinct possibility it could under the following scenario:

1. Clemson wins out, finishing 11-1, and likely ranked very highly as other teams in front of them lose a second game.
2. B.C. wins the remainder of its ACC games, all winnable, thus winning their division, stranding Clemson at home for the ACC championship game.

B.C's remaining ACC schedule is Wake, Duke, Maryland, and Miami. Winning out for them is a distinct possibility.

Clemson's remaining schedule is VPISU, Maryland, NCSU, & S. Carolina. Winning out is also a possibility, given that they look to have a very talented team. They also will need just a handful of losses from the teams in front of them; last week they were number 12 in the BCS. I think they can count on a few losses.

Under this scenario, the winner of the championship game would be a guaranteed a bid, and Clemson could be a likely contender.

Any thoughts, could getting two teams in work best in a down year?

p.s. As my friends well tell you, I don't remember some particularly bad losses. I just make myself forget. As far as I'm concerned, we've had two off weeks to get ready for Miami.

If we end up with two BCS teams then one certainly won't belong there.

Clemson is the only BCS-quality team in this conference.

And pigs could fly out of my ass. There is no way the ACC gets two BCS teams this year, due to widespread media hype about how "bad" the ACC is this year.
