Honestly, they are very fortunate that it wasn't much, much worse. Even with Virginia Tech's injury woes and relative lack of talent, Purdue could have lost this game by 60 points or more.
As you're well aware, many preview magazines this year ranked Purdue around the mid-70's down to the mid-80's and I think most people and the majority of this forum agreed with that, more or less. But it's time you all face facts, the days of 3-9 records with a conference victory as the cherry on top are over. The truth is that the Boilermakers belong somewhere on the low end of the 90's on their best day, though personally I have them breaking triple digits easily. Ranking them above Georgia Southern, San Jose State, Arkansas State, Florida International.. it's outrageous. And most of the teams they're improperly placed above seem to indicate a serious east coast bias.
You mean to tell me that Purdue is better than New Mexico? You should be ashamed of yourself.
The best opportunity they're going to have for the rest of the season to lose by a somewhat respectable margin is Bowling Green this week. The rest of their campaign is going to be an absolute bloodbath. If I were a Purdue fan I would be less concerned with how many points Wisconsin is going to decide to score against them than how many players may very well lose their lives. Someone needs to do something and put a stop to that game now, before it's too late.
You people need to get off the hype train and you need to do it immediately. The audacity some of you have in believing that they can come anywhere close to matching their win total from last year, frankly is disgusting. Are you seriously going to keep preaching that Purdue can win two more games with these sorts of performances? Did you even watch Ball State yesterday? They beat Eastern Michigan. Yeah, exactly.
I'm just so tired of this argument, hopefully some of you are ready to join me in reality and and stop with this nonsense. Honestly, if you intend to say a single word claiming Purdue can even keep it close against any of their conference opponents, I'd rather you didn't post in this thread. It's such an idiotic thing to say that I'll just assume you're trolling and be forced to report you.
