So I get a bit pertubed when people especially D-O-G fans throw out data from the 80's about Tech.

So here's our 10 year record.
a 3 year bright spot, but otherwise consistency.

Think Chan's dealt with more than GOL had in terms of rebuilding.

Here's my POV.
We're getting close to 10 years of plus 0.500 seasons.
No 3-9s or 1-10s...mostly just WTF losses (down to 1 reg season and 1 bowl game)

I think we've shown we CAN compete in major college football with the academic opportunities.

My question is will the CONSISTENCY of winning seasons lead to a critical mass of HIGH Level Football?

Is this enough to change the perception in-state and the South that "you can't win at that academic school"?

For comparison:
Last Losing Season
1996 5-6 Georgia
1998 3-8 Clemson
1976 5-6 FSU
1992 2-8-2 VPI
2005 5-6 Tenn
1999 5-6 Auburn

Don't listen to Mutt fans GTg8r, they will always reference back to the 80's because of course that was the last time they won a national championship (their one and only, compared to our 4). So until they win 3 more National championships, they can just shut their beer guzzling mouths about our skid in the 80's. By the way Go Gators!! Still pulling for a 14-0 season.:D

That's nice and all, but we're 3-8 against them over those seasons including losing the last 5 in a row.

The streak will end this year in Athens. The I'm hoping for a '98 like finish.

UGA is just about guaranteed six wins every season because of the very weak schedule they play: Ky, Vandy, MSU, Ole Miss, Patsy 1, Patsy 2. They do often play six tough games but assuming they win 2 out of 6, they should average 8 victories a season. And that is just about what they do over the long haul.

I can't remember when their schedule was tougher than ours. By the time we play them, we're often a thin Gold Line. Additionally, considering the general abilities to recruit at both programs, we're a surefire underdog on paper often.

But no excuses, we need to beat them more often.

Knox, you do make me wonder whose side you're on.
I am on the side that believes losing to UGay is unacceptable. What side are you on?
