said that GT has NOT tightened academic restrictions on incoming scholarship athletes. This issue was addressed headon on the GT pregame show live on 790am last Sat when Durham asked Braine about it. Braine said that "GT has not put a minimum SAT score or any other regulations on scholarship players". He said that Tech "looks at the entire package of a kid's academic application, which usually includes a test score & makes a decision on each individual". Braine added "there is no minimum cutoff SAT score other than NCAA regulations".
President Clough then showed up & Coach Braine asked him point blank if what they were talking about was true. Clough repeated almost verbatim what Braine had said.
This means that we 'can' take any player that is qualified. Keep in mind that it is contrary to any coach's program to take a player that cannot progress toward a degree.

That pretty much says it all on that issue in a nut shell.

I assume you mean any GT coach, and we probably need to qualify it as any current coach. ;>)

Groh pulled in a few freshmen that if they make it through UVA then the Hoos have at least one VERY easy major.
