ACC 2022 Schedule - Jan 31 7PM

Aside from the conference schedule, what kind of maniac schedules Ole Miss and UCF. UCF is an absolute no-win game: you win, people shrug because they've been outside the Power 5, you lose, which is likely because they are good, you've really black marked yourself. As for Ole Miss, that appears to be a brutal beat down while folks from Mississippi come to Atlanta for a nice party and shopping they can't get back in the trailer park. Now Western is the kind of game we should be scheduling. Look at Duke, they tee up every winnable game they can knowing if they can eke out a win or two in conference they get to go to a low class bowl game and pretend they are relevant. Typical Tech stupidity to schedule over your head.

UCF was 0-12 just 7 years ago. Probably wasn’t such a daunting game when we put it on our schedule.

I think most of the guys in the Football office in the Edge Center led UCF to that 0-12 season actually, so we should be familiar.

In todays landscape, I’d rather us schedule games like this as opposed to games against the likes of KSU, Citadel, or Western. Who the hell wants to watch is play them? If youre going to play, then lets play some perceived decent competition.

I’d rather see us win games personally

The Ole Miss game should have been played years ago but they kept postponing it. Probably didn't want to play the option. UCF is on the schedule because they cancelled for Hurricane Irma in 2017. I am sure we would like to start scheduling more like other teams, but these games are baked in. It is poor timing when Collins needs wins more than anything, but it is what it is.

Why would we schedule the Mississippi schools in any sport after they blocked us from returning to the SEC? There is no logical reason.
I agree, playing UCF or any other non-P5 team requiring a home and home makes no sense.
Other than the cesspool we should not schedule any P5 team without a significant financial upside until we are much improved. We need wins not more interesting opponents.

We need wins but given our current state (see N. Illinois, Citadel) nothing is a given.

At the end of the day, you are right but it certainly isn't very satisfying beating the Kennesaw State's of the world after losing to Northern Illinois.
