It's not over guys, VT has to play AT BC, FSU and Miami. And then Maryland comes in town at VT. All of those teams are capable of beating them, so yeah we are in contention for the ACC Division. Don't lose all hope yet!

Definitely agree. VPI has to lose 2 games to punch our ticket to Tampa...provided we win out in the ACC (which IMO is very plausable).

I think North Carolina is another team VPI should watch out for. They aren't a cupcake this year (just watch their game vs. Rutgers for proof).
 
VT will lose at least 3 more game. I dont have to look at their schedule to know that. I wasn't very impressed at all.
 
Our toughest ACC tests will be FSU, UNC, and Miami. Win those, we're in...as I don't see us having any trouble with Duke or UVA.

UNC and MIA are the keys. If we win those two we'll win the division. right now we were be an underdgo to both and both could be much better by the time we play them so we need to keep getting better and get well.
 
I thought that kid Balljoint was pretty impressive; I wouldn't write VPI off completely.
 
We could also lose 4 more. I am hoping we do not, but our "O" needs to get cranking by mid season and I think it will. I want to sit back and enjoy a big 4th qtr. lead.

Yet somehow Beamer finds a way to win. Not saying they are world beaters or ACC champ caliber, but until I actually see them lose, I'm not writing them off.
 
VT's next three conference games are on the road --with @Nebraska and vs.Western Kentucky sandwiched between. VT doesn't play another home conference game until November and travels to UNC this weekend, which should make for an interesting game.

GT will be at Chapel Hill the first weekend in November --so if you pull for UNC this weekend you better beat them in November. I'm hoping that BC and FSU take care of the Hokies --let two Atlantic division teams knock them off. I felt certain I would be pulling for UNC this weekend --but I'm not totally sold on that yet.

I suppose it's better to see the teams ahead of you at the moment fall (VT), knowing you can still take care of business against the teams that remain on your schedule (UNC). So as of today VT has to lose twice in order for GT to have a shot at the Coastal, and UNC has to only lose once --with that loss being against GT-- so I suppose I should be pulling for the 'Heels this weekend.
 
UNC has a good chance of beating the Hoagies this weekend. They have a good OL, a strong passing attack, and enough of a running game this year to make them a tough opponent. They've played us one-score games the last two years. That game is hardly a given win for us, especially if we've not solved the OL issues by November.

Then again, if we haven't solved those issues by November, then November will be a very long month for us.

We have to pull for UNC this weekend. VT just needs to lose.

Actually, we're playing FSU @ HOME on NOV 1. I was worried for sec. when I saw your post because I was arranging time off to attend game.

Yeah, I kind of lost count there; seven days in a week --not eight.

Our church holds an annual BBQ the first weekend in November, and I stay up all Friday night/early Saturday helping cook --and playing poker all night/morning long. I do recall lamenting that it will be the FSU game this year that falls on the day when I will be lacking sleep.
