compare this pic to the SEC game each year where their demand is higher than tickets available.. For the ACC game last year, it wasn't much better..

the Jville site is in SEC country. bottom line. Its being moved to charlotte.

Wow, did not know it was that bad. Must have missed the shot when I was watchign the game. The funny thing is I was there last year and I think the game had more people, and that's considering to conferences' two smallest schools played last year.

Things slow over in Athens right now? :wow:

geetee you're a douchebag as usual; I watched the game and I know for a fact that there were more people there than your "photograph" indicates.

Well done on the photoshop.

If BC and VT fans won't go to Jax then they won't go to Charlotte either.

Maybe what they could do is schedule a Duke/UNC basketball game at midfield during halftime. They could play two 8 minute halves with a 4 min halftime.

That'd fill that place to the brim.

riiight... keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better about attendance at our conf. championship game. I guess its being considered for Charlotte because the weather is warmer that time of year there.

You don't think more fans would go if we moved the game two states close to them?
Nope. It might matter if a North Carolina school plays but that is usually the exception rather than the rule.

Besides, what if F$U and/or Miami start playing and they don't feel like driving to Charlotte?

If you have to move the location of the game to get fans to attend then where the game is played is not really the problem.

The stadium would have been full if the game had been in Charlotte this year. It's close enough for VT fans to drive to, and the local populace would have been a lot more apt to buy tickets and go to the game. The main thing is that more locals would go if the game was in Charlotte than they do in Jacksonville.

The stadium would have been half full if it was in Charlotte....I think every single living BC fan showed up to the ACCCG but we see how that worked out.

They've kinda turned into our annoying stepchild as far as I'm concerned(although I do like that we get more bowl money off of them)

It's not that long of a drive from Blacksburg to Charlotte. It would probably have been a sellout.

I notice that, without fail, GeeTee loves posting negative things about Tech, not related at all to Chan. Does it hurt to go to a BCS bowl game just to play Hawaii?

There would have been about 2x as many VT fans in Charlotte. Also, say what you will, but people in NC do support the ACC. I would bet that you would find 10,000 extra street fans in Charlotte going to the game. Maybe more if you can guarantee that UNC and Duke schedule away BB games.

Exactly. Ask the North Carolina schools if VT brings their fans south of the border. If Wake's stadium held 100K they could sell it out for that regular season game.

Nobody can expect BC to travel well on a few weeks notice to such a rinkydink airport. That's why Atlanta would be better for them. But Charlotte is best overall and doesn't have the SEC conflict.

On that note, Oklahoma and Missouri couldn't sell out the Alamodome for their championship. FWIW.

Picture looks like birmingam for the SEC game if Bama had not been in it.

Championships need to be played in domes for folks who like to spend a lot of money and travel on short notice in december.

The ACCC will be bigger in Charlotte but a dome is the way to go.

FWIW, last year an sEC ticket on the street was $10, this year it was $20. So, all of these things have seen their better day.

Official attendance as reported by the ESPN.com box score was 53,212 in a 67,000 seat stadium.

I'm close enough to Charlotte to make a day trip out of it, and would definitely consider so. If GT were there, it would be a no-brainer ... gimme 2 or 4 on the ...
