Where ACC teams have finished in the AP poll since 2002

BC: '05 -18, '06 -20 (joined ACC in '05)
CU: '03 -22, '05 -21
DU: none
FSU: '02 -21, '03 -11, '04 -15, '05 -23
GT: none
MD: '02 -13, '03 -17
UM: '04 -11, '05 -17 (joined ACC in '04)
UNC: none
NCSt: '02 -12
UVA: '02 -22, '04 -23
VT: '04 -10, '05 -7, '06 -19 (joined ACC in '04)
WF: '06 -18

GT in the AP poll since 2002 (by week):
2002: none
2003: none
2004: none
2005: wk1- 17, wk2-16, wk3- 15, wk4- 25, wk5-24, wk10- 24, wk12- 20, wk13-24, wk14- 24, final- not ranked
2006: wk4- 24, wk5 -18, wk6- 13, wk7- 13, wk8- 21, wk9- 20, wk10- 19, wk11- 18, wk12- 16, wk13- 23, final- not ranked
2007: wk1- 21, wk2- 15

My first obvious comment is that GT is lumped in with UNC and Duke as the only ACC teams without a top 25 finish in the AP poll since 2002.

Another thing I noticed is that there have been only two top 10 finishes by an ACC school since 2002 --VT in '04 and '05. There have been seven top 15 finishes by the ACC during the same timeframe.

GT's highest ranking at any time was in the middle of last season --at 13 for two consecutive weeks.

Wow, we are in great company. Now thats what I call progress! How great is a 9-win season if you don't even finished ranked? Kind of puts the season in perspective.
