“There’s no reason why we can’t be on top of the ACC,” coach Paul Johnson said Tuesday. “Can we compete every year? Well, I hope so. If I hadn’t thought that, I wouldn’t have come here. There’s no reason why Georgia Tech can’t be right there in the conference.”

. . . . .

Is he just sticking up for the ACC? Maybe.

But Johnson makes an argument: “Ole Miss loses to Wake Forest and people say, ‘Well, they’re a bottom feeder of the SEC.’ But then they go and beat Florida and the same people say, ‘Oh, that’s how tough the SEC is.’ It’s perception. Georgia’s a great example. Georgia’s a very talented team. They’ve got some great individual players. But the perception and the expectation level before the season started was unbelievable. And what warranted it? Because they blew out Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl?”

It sure is there for the taking, and we are in control of our own destiny. I like that last paragraph in this post. It's so true. SEC-biased folks will say anything to prove SEC dominance. As far as the best division in football, it is no longer the SEC east. It is now the Big 12 South. Anyone who wants to oppose that hasn't been watching football this year. I will take Texas, OU, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State over the SEC east.

I wish that were true, but the truth is that we're at the mercy of VA Tech right now.
You are corrrect. Polly has to lost twice in the ACC and we have to run the table. Not looking to promising, but it could happen. Let's hope Polly loses to BC and we take care of Clemmons this week. Then our chances go up dramatically.

he said in his initial press conference that he came to tech to compete for NATIONAL championships.

that's what I like to hear.

I wish he wouldn't talk about Georgia. Its best to just leave them alone and let your game do the talking. And lately we have no game to talk about.

It depends what you define "lately" as. If you consider "lately" to be solely the last game played, then yes, it was a bad performance.

Other things there for the taking:

Actions speak louder than words. Lets see action on Nov. 29.

Otherwise this is nothing but blahblahblahblah -- just like you.

I like the blah blah. Isn't that what message boards are all about? I know I offer nothing of significance on here or anywehre else. e.g.... me calling you a pussy.
