Friday ACC PM with Mark Packer and Taylor Tannenbaum from 4-6PM and Saturday ACC Huddle with Kelsey Riggs, Eric Mac Lain, E.J. Manuel, and Eddie Royal will be broadcasting all throughout the day between other games and during halftime of those games from 12-7:30PM. Typically the same crew sets up in the stadium for a final ACC Huddle after the game is over. Hopefully we'll give them a good showing and lots of GT to talk about. (By the way they were in Miami when we pulled the miracle, so maybe they bring us luck.) Maybe this will also bring more fans out and have a lively pre-game experience.

Have we ever had this show on campus before?

Gonna have to keep the HBP concert loudness down during the last 15 minutes of that Saturday show.

My question is when was the last time College Game Day was at GT?

I know they were at GT years ago, but this OF cannot remember the year or the opponent.

In the far reaches of my brain (what's left of it), I want to say the 1990 season when GT
played Clemson at BDS@HGF, or 1991 when South Carolina had just joined
the SEC, but perhaps I wrong about that.

2006 season opener against ND.

They came to GT in 2006 for our season opener against Notre Dame. They also came to Clemson that year for our game vs them when we were ranked 12 and Clemson 13 or something like that.

IIRC, we've never won a game (home or away) that was hosted by College Gameday, and most losses were of the blowout variety.

Thank you for giving me the answer! More than likely I was at that game as our group had ten
season tickets in the LE among many former GT players and alumnus. The only ND game I
can remember at BDS was the game where the GT students pelted the ND bench and
sidelines with dead fish. That was one for the ages!!

Yeah I was thinking that might be a bit of a conflict too.
I haven't been but I thought the stage was set up on N Ave facing 75/85? Modern line array systems are extremely efficient at projecting sound only where it is wanted. Great cancellation behind them, especially in open air.

The stage is about 50 yards from corner of North Ave and Luckie/Tech Parkway, facing directly down North Ave toward the stadium. We tailgate in the parking lot behind Arthur Blank Y/Charter School, and are about 50 yards from the stage off to the side. The sound is so loud we have moved as far away from it as we can in the parking lot, and even at over 100 yards away the sound is still quite loud.

So the stage is West of the tower? I thought it was near the stadium/just to the east of Tech Tower Lawn. It wouldn't pose as much of a problem there, but if it is where you say then yeah definitely will. Still sounds like someone isn't great at deploying a line array either though, because you can tighten the pattern up quite nicely on those, especially top end ones and don't need high volume for coverage. They look to be using an L-Acoustics rig from what I've seen in pics, which are very top of the line.

Bruh

We haven't been able to get the sound levels right in a stadium we've occupied for over 100 years. How we gonna get it right on something that gets set up for six hours then loaded into a truck six times a year? :bfd:

Because we are hiring that out to professionals. GT isnt running the audio on the block party stage.

Yep. And we lost, but weren't embarrassed - I think ND was ranked second at the time. More than half of Ball's completions were to Calvin, who was typically great. And what an atmosphere! Sold out and more than capacity crowd . . . over 55,000. I can't wait until Tech football brings that kind of excitement again.

They got the benefit of a late hit BS call either on that big TE (Samarja? IDK how to spell it) or Quinn
