Congrats to the ACC...the first conference EVER to have 10 teams play in the postseason.

I heard the other day it was the 3rd time it had ever happened...

I'll double check, but I am fairly sure. I think that conferences had had 10 bowl eligible teams before, but never all played in bowls. I'll see if I can find out for sure.

The ACC did a hell of a job this year. Hopefully this means that the ACC could be the powerhouse it used to be, in the near future.

The league has 10 bowl-eligible teams. No conference has ever placed 10 teams in bowl games. It's only the third time in college football history that a conference has had that many teams bowl eligible.

I was going to post the same thing but I then realized that in fact they did say that two other conferences had had 10 bowl ELIGIBLE teams. I think it may be a record because the SEC really pushed their 9 bowl game deal a few years ago.

Yeah, but the more bowl eligable teams you have, the more 7-5, 6-6 records you have. Two or three teams with 10-2 records will mean more losses for the rest, so fewer go bowling.

Hence powerhouse and parity are mutually exclusive...

Unless, we collude with other ACC schools to hold off playing our toughest opponents until late in the season. (And vice versa.) Then we'd look more like the Big XII.
