Let's see now, the Academic Progress Rate has been in effect a coupla months & a higher education league, The ACC, has already seen big-time problems with it & is asking for relief! This is a major can of worms that can be argued from both sides til the cows come home. The arguing will never end either, even with some tweakin, a la the BCS System.
Here's a look at what the ACC is asking for;

ACC already wants some relief

I agree w/ request. I do not understand why a school should be punished when an athlete decides to go pro. It is a double whammy to the program, both the early loss of a good player and then the point hit. This also does not take into consideration the players that go pro, but continue to take classes in off season (ala Emmitt Smith, Heath Shuler, etc) Granted it is rare, but it does occur. Basically, I gave up on the NCAA ever coming to an intelligent, rational conclusion a long time ago.
