This thought was triggered while riding home Fri afternoon listening to 680am. A Dog caller stated "if FSU played in a real conference they'd only have 1 National Championship" instead of 2. The stunning part was the host, Steve Dooley SCar grad, answering "so true, so true". The facts of head-to-head meetings have no impact on knowledgeless SEC fans.
Not only did the ACC WIN the reg season from the SEC 4 games to 2 this season, but everybody else beat them too. The Big East beat the SEC 3 games to 2, the Big12 won 2 to 0 & the PAC10 won 2 to 0. The ACC is just 1 of 4 major conferences to spank them.
Heck, Clemson's beaten SCar 5 outta the last 6 times, FSU's beaten Fla 4 outta last 5 & GT's beaten Ga 3 outta last 5. This is a MAJOR 12-4 stomping in rivalry games.
How many times & for how many yrs does the ACC have to continually beat the SEC for them to realize how far behind the ACC they are? Shoot, the ACC will put, at least, another 4 games to 2 spanking on the SEC next yr to stretch our winning reg season streak to 5 outta 6 yrs.

And,, if u want to look at all games played between the ACC/SEC over the past 5 yrs, which includes Bowls, the ACC still has the advantage 16-15. Vanderbilt won 5 of these games over Duke(4) & Wake Forest(1).
Every kind of head-to-head games you look at between the ACC-SEC comes out with the ACC being superior. Even all these facts won't stop the SEC advocates from making assinine statements, but I thought I'd let everyone in on the TRUE statistics of the rivalry.

Well, as far as this year goes, we'll know alot more about the relative strength of the conferences when the 2 champs play...Also, MD vs. UTK is a good matchup, where no one can claim that one guy at the top of one conference was playing the other guy at the bottom of the other conference.

Personally, I don't consider myself an ACC fan. I hate alot of the teams in our conference and don't mind when they lose, particular the 4 teams from North Carolina and Clemson. Also, I don't hate the SEC like most Tech fans.

However, I get tired of the same excuses every time an SEC team loses to the ACC. It's usually something along the lines of..."we're wore out from our tough schedule...we overlooked you guys and the game didn't mean as much to us." Of course, if the SEC team beats the ACC team, they say "you guys suck."

It's our cross to bear, I guess.

Ole Miss won, Arkansas lost. Clemson lost badly, but Virginia and Wake Forest won handily. I guess we will have a better handle on this season after the bowls are over.
