and "was not contacted by Nebraska". This has just been posted on AJC.com & will be in Fri's AJC. Meanwhile, the Nebraska papers are reporting how Tenuta got to Lincoln (private jet), who picked him up (asst Jamrog), what vehicle they rode to campus in (white utility vehicle), when they got there, when they left, Tenuta shook hands with 1 person & said "thanks" when offered a good luck wish.
Is the AJC on top of it or what? Local outhouse soil cleaner also stated that Tenuta turned down the HC position @ Wyoming. The way Tenuta is grubbing for another job, it is hard to believe he would turn down any HC offer & a chance to quadruple his salary, at minimum, with more likely chance that would sextuple his salary.
Here's AJC's Ga Tech notebook;

AJC reports on Tenuta

This may be a timing thing. Did Hollis ask the question before Tenuta talked with Nebraska? Don't know anything about the Wyoming thing but I can see why he might turn it down. He obviously wants to be a HC (and personally I wouldn't want him as DC if he didn't have some ego and ambition) but he also wants it to be the right situation. Why take a job just to have it if you don't think it will either last or set you up for something bigger? He may think Wyoming isn't a good situation.

For the record. Tenuta will not go to a HC job just because he is offered. I mean we are talking Wyoming here. That is a good place to go and get lost. The only way he will leave for a HC job is if it is in one of the big 6 conferences.

Sorry, but I don't think the Nebraska interview, with a private jet going from Lincoln to Atlanta to Lincoln to Atlanta to Lincoln & all the arrangements for ground transportation & interview time, was set up in the few hours AFTER Hollis talked to Tenuta & before Tenuta arrived in Lincoln. The Nebraska papers were already on the street with their details BEFORE the internet article was published @ AJC.com.
Sorry again, but the Wyoming job is most certainly a stepping stone to bigger 1a jobs, with the latest being Les Miles @ Oklahoma St. Franchione's 1st 1a job was @ New Mexico (also in Mtn West) which Fran left just 5 yrs ago. Any HC job is better than a DC job, as you get experience running the program, if u do it right. Tressel came from Youngstown, Mumme from Valdosta St, T Bowden from Tulane, etc, etc. The Fridge almost blew his, but got it at 54 yrs old.
Do ya really think a guy like Tenuta, 43, will sit on a DC job waiting for the 'right' HC job to come along? I don't.

I think Tenuta will wait for what he thinks is the best job for him. Whether that's Wyoming or not I don't know. I don't understand your question though. Are you saying he wasn't really offered the job? Or just saying he will take what he thinks is a better job? I don't think anyone disagrees with the latter. I don't think anyone really knows the answer to the first one.

maybe they kidnapped him w/o his knowledge. Hollis is a joke b/c the ajc coverage of GT is a joke.

I have long said Hollis is just a prop they put on the byline. We have the worst coverage of any Div 1 college.

Ga Southern gets MUCH better coverage in Savannah than we do in Atl

NCJacket & Lawbee,
That's my real question; How much does Hollis & the AJC really know (or care) about Ga Tech football? Do they just print something to fill up space so they can say they wrote a GT article? With Hollis' story about Nebraska being so bs filled & so behind what other papers are reporting, how can we rely on his observation of the Wyoming situation without calling bs on that too?

I can understand that. Not living in Atlanta I rely on Stingtalk and the Hive for my GT news so even Hollis' stuff is welcome.
