Albert Poree has quit the team (link)

I feel bad for the kid. He has really taken a beating in what was probably an inconsequential (sp?) play. I wish he would return to the team. If not, I hope he stays in school.

God Bless him and lead him where he needs to be right now. I fully support his decision if that's what he feels is best for him. He WILL get a GREAT degree. With that said, it WOULD be nice to have him back and prove what a great Yellow Jacket he could be!

Transfers have baggage sometimes. Alot of transfers leave a school to get away from a problem, but some problems aren't so easy to get away from.

Aw, shoot! Wish he wouldn't do that. Nothing would be better than to see him overcome this snafu. It would be very heartwarming, but if he is miserable, then I feel for him and hope he changes his mind.

Same here! Wish all the best for Poree. Sometimes things do not work out the way we have them planned. However, these same setbacks in our own plans seem to come out better when they are turned over to a higher power.

Poree may come out with a better priority list and help his future life immensely.

Not only did he let the ball roll into the EZ on the punt that would have been downed at the one by anyone else, on the next punt, he missed the easy tackle on #21 Hamilton that would have negated the 79 yard return and made it a no return right before halftime. The bonehead time-out call by CG would never have happened setting up Clemson's TD. Poree was benched and in the dog house again. Two head coaches, and two dog houses. Guess he felt it's time to go.

Kerry Watkins needs to go have a talk with Poree. If anyone knows about personal redemption it's him. How he went from goat (not making critical catch in OT at NC ST '00) to hero (making "the catch"). Hester could also give a testimony of redeeming oneself (UGA '99). I really hope his teammates can rally around him, give him the encouragement he needs, and pursuade hime to stay. I just have a gut feeling, that somewhere during this season he could have an opportunity to make a play that can change the outcome of the game to our favor. It has happened to other players many times over the years, giving up on the team and the possibility of redeeming himself just doesn't to be the best idea IMO. I do wish him the best.

Keep your head up, Al. Whatever issues you're having to deal with are much more important than football.

Although I didn't play football, I had to leave GT for personal reasons - although I was ashamed at the time, it may have been the best for me in the long run.
