We lost to VT after beating BC on the road
We lost to UVa after beating Clemson on the road
We lost to UNC after beating F$U at home
We lost yesterday after beating UGa on the road
The only arguable exception (thankfully) is not losing to UGa after beating Miami.
Anyone who has been watching college football for more than one or two seasons knows exactly why this happens: Youth.
CPJ is fond of reminding the team that "good teams don't lose two games in a row." This has helped us follow the three regular season losses with wins:
We beat Miss St after losing to VT
We beat F$U after losing to UVa
We beat UM after losing to UNC
Next year, we will not be a young team.
Next year, maybe we can expand the mantra to say:
Good teams don't lose two in a row and great teams don't have letdown games after big wins.
