Is covering every damn week.

GT +6.5 @ BC
GT +6.5 @ VT
MSU @ GT -7
Duke @ GT -12.5

<3 you CPJ.

Hopefully D-Rad is playing along to help pay off Chan's deal.

What are the + and -?

+ is a loss and - is a win?

Explain covering while you're here. I don't get how we covered if we won by three and the numbers here are higher?

That is the Vegas line at gametime. + shows how much you're supposed to lose by. - shows how much you're supposed to win by.

You don't do the prediction contest?

The + means that GT was an underdog by that many points. The - means that GT was a favorite by that many points. Covering basically means the team did better than they were predicted to do.

We were supposed to lose to BC and VT by 6.5. We covered by not losing by 6.5 points.

We were supposed to beat MSU by 7 but we beat them by more.

We were supposed to beat Duke by 12.5 but we beat them by more.

The "supposed" means that half the people betting thought we would and half thought we wouldn't.

Each time we did better than those who thought we "would."

Hope that makes it clear.

Thanks.

Good explanations from all.

This is the first time Tech has covered 4 straight weeks since the 2000 season, where they covered the last 7 weeks and went 9-2 against the spread overall. That's almost as ridiculous as when Tech hit the under 9 straight times in 2002.
