Alright. What\'s REALLY happening behind the scenes?

You longtime followers know what I'm posting about. There is something going on we won't hear or read about until March--April. Something internally. Remember O'leary taking over for a lameduck Lewis..........or the Marrone/Fridge incident........or half the coaching staff getting another offer(ND), with 3/4 of a season still to play. The players learn this stuff long before the fans do. The sideline doesn't lie.

Doesn't take much with this fragile program.
Something is working its way through the lockerroom. Can't quite put my finger on it, but you can take it to the bank. There's another bombshell or mini-bombshell ready to be dropped. Could be coaches that don't get along with each other, to the point that someone/ones can't wait to exit. Could be players that don't respect coaches. Could be legal problems. I admit I am speculating, but as a 30 follower I know darn well there is something going on internally that has not yet surfaced to the public.

We've got coaches arguing whether they should be coaching from the pressbox or the sideline.

We've got players walking out on the team in the middle of the season.

We've got multiple injuries increasing as the season has less to offer.

We've got a headcoach that doesn't allow coaches to talk to the media, without his approval.

We've got fans booing at a record noise-level at BDS@GF

We've got a state rival sprinting to the NC finish line, while we're trying to figure out how to be somewhat competitive in Div 1 football.

I will bet anyone on this board a Jamocca milkshake that something internally is going to be dropped on us before baseball season starts.

Sometimes it can be as simple as a head coach on "coast mode" looking for a retirement parachute.

Just spitballin here, but it would appear BOB and Chan do not see eye to eye on how to run the offense. The only bombshell dropped on us will be BOB leaving at yearend. Like I said just spitballin.

Something's not right. WRs not catching the ball, no xtra effort to get to the EZ, placekicking's a mess, throwing short of 1st downs on 3rd & 4th downs, O coaches changing from field to pressbox, D adjustments not made, no emotional pep on sidelines, NO recruit committments coming in, etc, etc. Who's talking to who. The players 'smell' something amok.
Things seem to be on 'hold' everywhere in the football program. What are the coaches waiting on in recruitment? Are all the coaches afraid of making mistakes &, therefore, not taking chances? Why do we not go for it on 4th inside the opponents territory? Are Assts interviewing? Will there be an exedus or underclassmen in Jan?

Seems like EVERYBODY has that sinking feeling. Fans, players, coaches - EVERYBODY. The confidence level seems to be WAAAAY down. I guess I usually see the glass as half full (especially when it comes to the YellowJackets

) and didn't expect this much calamity with "the transition" and apparently neither did anybody else (OK, most of us). We can STILL pull it together. "Paging Tony Robbins!"

The only thing I know which went on behind the scenes was that BOB did NOT get a QB ready to play winning football this year!!
Now you can track everything back to that.IF we had a real QB we would have a semblence of a offense even with Hollings gone.Even with Gathers gone the Def would probably be good enough if they could rest some. The sp teams play has been amazingly weak ,considering what it looked like we had, but even that would not have killed us.
The QB development WAS THE KEY!
Hey ,when you lose against high expectations, people will talk,and grumble, and talk and grumble.
What is new?

ALlives...you hit 2 out of the 3. I don't think anything is going on legally. If Suggs starts again Saturday..then Chan will get what he deserves. The players know who the best QB is on the team and who will give us a chance "that spark" we need.

I'll just say that this team and situation is falling apart fast.

But heck after reading yesterday from our HC and QB that we are getting close...I feel better..don't you?

Buzzybee, I know your words were dripping with sarcasm but this is a sinking ship we are on. We do need a captain that can read a compass or it will be another 5 year deal similar to Bill Lewis. That would be fine if they never asked us for money, and a lots of it, by the way. Since we have a financial interest in the team we have every right to raise hell when we see our coach and his clowns taking us down the sewer. Don't you ever mind, The Braine will be contacting us for many other handouts even if we lose our last seven games {two already lost and the last 5 on our schedule} on our schedule. He seems to think that the running of the program is not our concern
but that we should open our wallet when he calls. I know that I will cut back on my giving until I can see some improvements in our football program.
Yet we have some sunny side up fans that refuses to see the seriousness of our plight. I'm not being critical of them but they have the audacity to criticise the Tech people that are objective.

I agree..In fact someone pointed out earlier that those of us who purchase season tics, those who contribute money, are in essence, stockholders of this company....I very much believe thats the case, and I think we have every right to complain as vocally as desired.

I know stockholders of any company I was involved in cared VERY much about what went on with the company and definitely complained when things weren't going well....Why ? Because their money is invested...Just like ours

Not everything that goes wrong in life is the fault of those in charge. In fact a lot of s___ just happens.
I guess there are some of us who think that there is always someone to blame. It just ain't so. If someone can't hit the curveball, he just can't. If a football team has average talent and more than usual injuries, it has average talent and more than usual injuries.

Maybe it's comfortable to always blame somebody, I don't know. I feel like I'm being patronizing, but , dang, guys, your "string 'em up" reaction to disappointment is childish.

I don't want to string anyone up. I do have certian expectations however, that have nothing to do with injuries, youth etc...

1. Enthusiasm - wanting to win.
2. Mental and physical preparation for games.
3. Execution

I don't think thats asking too much. I don't mind losing to a better team, but I don't like seeing a team get walked over when it seems they have stopped trying. I think what is upsetting to most folks is the above, and what this may indicate.

Not having been on the sidelines, in the locker room, or at practices, I don't know if what you fear is true or not. In games I've seen guys play hard and I've seen them get blown out in one half.

Coleman Rudolph has been on the sidelines, or so he says, and he certainly was negatively impressed. He is speaking out about his displeasure in what he saw and heard and I don't think any one would question Coleman's loyalty to Ga. Tech.. By the way, Coleman is speaking out on the airwaves too.

Look, when CG makes a quarter of a million more than MR there are no excuses. For a million a year you should win a lot of games.
