Am I wrong?

Correct me if I am wrong but IF there wasn't a ACC Championship game would Tech not of won the ACC outright with only one conference loss (clem-son)? Remember, Wake lost to clem-son and VT. Just wondering, kind of weird that in the second year of the Championship game it bit us in the rear. I was and still am in favor of having the extra game but think what if!

Still if someone told me in August we would go undefeated in our division and loose to Wake for the title I NEVER would have believed it.

There's a saying about "if's and but's" and Christmas, too.

The reason there is a championship game in the ACC, SEC, or Big Twelve is because we don't play the entire conference. So it really isn't fair to compare records across divisions. For example, we didn't have to play Wake in the regular season, which a Wake fan could reasonably argue would be one more loss for us.

Personally, I preferred the days when there were no conference championship games and all the conferences played the rest of the conference every year....Big Eight, Southwest, Southeast, etc. But the day of the mega-conference is upon us.

I'd say either have a conference championship or have a pure round-robin schedule. What I don't want is the Big 10, with 11 teams who only play eight games among themselves and the schedules can play a big part in who wins.

If GT won the ACC outright becaue of the abscense of the championship, I would similarly have to credit the ACC schedule we played.

Here's the bottom line NCJacket. The ACC does have a championship game-Tech was a participant-we only had to beat W.F. to go to a BCS bowl-we couldn't even score a TD. Now we are in a bowl that most of the players did not even want to go to. WV 2nd in the nation for rushing 302 ypg / White 66% completion rate /1500 yds/11TD's / 9th in rushing defense. Looks like another Emerald bowl embarrassment.:ugh:

I say we hang a "Regular Season ACC Champions" banner like folk do in basketball.

ncjacket was just confirming the original poster's point. You're the one who had to turn that into some anti-Gailey spin.
