<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Bowden's status has been an issue for years. And with the contract nearing its end, it had to be addressed. A slick move by North Carolina State head coach Chuck Amato, a former FSU assistant coach, made sure the issue was handled during the recruiting process.
"Amato's good. I like Amato," Wetherell said. "He took a contract and laid it out in front of a kid. He took the one page - 'Says right here, 2004, it's over. Bobby's not going to be your coach, Son.'"
"He didn't show him the second page, which said it's a lifetime contract. It's a recruiting ploy. That problem we fixed.
