This morning at church, there was not ONE (1) car/truck came in the parking lot w/a UGA flag flying on it. First time that's happened in a long time. On top of that, a couple of those life long die hard flea fans were bragging on GT and talking about how they had truly wanted to follow GT and were seriously considering swithching.

Excuse me guys, but that's enough to make a fella want to puke. Anybody that easy to sell out don't need to be on my side at anything, much less my football team fan.

Rome, I'm coming across more of those types as well. I just laugh at them and tell them we don't want them around.

They have to renounce their dawggie allegiance and must cheer for our BBall team for a few years while the background checks are done before they are allowed on the football bandwagon.

Yeah, and if they "upset" us you will catch hell at church!

I take it since every Sunday you comment on your church experiences, church is much more fun for you. I hope for your sake that we beat UGAy in three weeks, or church will suck again for you! I also hope we beat UGAy for my sake, 5 years is WAY TOO LONG!!!!!!

No, do not let these fly-by-night Georgia fans jump ship and change alliances. As a lifelong GT fan who maintained my 'fandomship' to the Jackets through four years in Athens and a degree from UGA, who also wore his old gold (might have been cheddar) and white in the UGA student section while there, these guys do not deserve the priviledge of supporting the Jackets.

No my friend, you have to e - a - r - n the right to do so.

This thread explains 35% of the uga "faithful". Like so many have already said, we don't want any dawg falloffs.

As I have stated here in the past, back in the 50's, UGA was almost unheard of here in Rome, GA. as far as the fans were concerned. Everything was GT, GT, GT.

We have GT fans just as guilty as the UGA fans when it comes holding allegiance to a particular team. It's been my experience that most folk just want to be associated with whoever is winning the most games, as opposed to being a faithful fan through thick and thin. Unfortuantely, GT has had some thin years to overcome as far as fans are concerned.

Like it or not, when GT achieves dominance in the battle of Georgia, be ready to see a lot of faces you've never seen before. They're coming !!

Two words: Dallas Cowboys.

With success comes banes and boons. The boon is better media coverage, which leads to better recruiting, which perpetuates success. The bane is lame "fans" returning to the fold, liking our program for a few years, and then starting up 'fire X coach' websites if we have a down year.

Church is a blast of fun.

When GT/UGA play and UGA wins, I get covered with phone calls (friendly..sic) phone calls from the UGA fans wanting to discuss the game after it's over. Hey, that's all they got, let'em have their fun.

BUT !!!!!!

When we beat them 3 yrs straight, the parking lot and sanctuary was like a vacant lot. FBI couldn't find a Uga fan w/search warrants.

What goes around, comes around and I believe this will be my year to make some phone calls. hehehehe

At my last church (when I lived in Savannah), there was a die-hard UGA fan who would not sing in the choir after a loss because he partially blamed God for not answering his prayers. The guy has social/emotional problems so I had to give him somewhat of a break, but they kind of crap just burns me.
