If ya want to read why the NCAA has labeled many higher education facilities as 'football factories' then just peruse this piece from ESPN on Maryland running back Sammy Maldanado. Sammy signed with the Buckeyes & spent 2 yrs there. He then decided to transfer. Coach Friedgen came to the rescue. Maldanado found out how few of his credits, in totally worthless courses, would transfer. Really interesting story.
Then click on the side stories where 'Other Buckeyes Chime In'. In it U find out that players can't even transfer to Grambling or Hampton because of preposterous course credits from Ohio St. How does the NCAA let a renowned university like OSU get away with these courses yr after yr?
Another very interesting side story is the Maurice Clarett tradgedy from the start @ Ohio St. I feel that Ohio St is a dispicable mess!

Ah, remedial studies! bit the dogs in the butt a few years ago. All that happened was those classes became part of the undergrad curriculum.

I see 'ole Ralph hammered him into shape...

The bright side of this article is how it shows the outstanding quality of a human being Ralph is!

It is indeed awful. But this article is a blast from the past - if you have any new info on OSU, I'd like to hear it.

Two years ago isn't so old...

This shows how disgusting the NCAA is. We are on probation because, in part, a kid took chemistry when he needed biology after he changed majors.

However, GT doesn't bring TV ratings, and the money that follows, like OSU does. OSU graduates players, and the NCAA knows that most people look no deeper than that.

They like football factories with huge fan bases and the money that goes along with it. They don't like real schools with real majors that don't make them look good.
