My best friend from grad schools days in Cincy now lives in Marietta and has become friends with Bond. He says they really want to stay. I think Bond coached QBs for 3-4 years at Army while PJ was at Navy so they may have run into each other. Any chance Bond gets to stay on as a QB coach and who here thinks he would have value?

I only know of the guy and folks like him but I have no idea what kind of OC he would have been. regardless, that role is no longer needed at GT nut he seems like a good fit at QB coach if PJ is going to hire one.

I'm really looking forward to see Bond call plays by himself in the bowl, and see what he does our from under Gailey's wing. But in all honesty I doubt he returns. However, if CPJ likes him, I would be open to him staying. If not, I hope he succeeds and gets another OC job.

I don't think he'll be back, and certainly not as anything other than offensive coordinator. Becoming QB coach without the coordinator title would be a pretty sizable demotion.

Agreed, but have any OC positions opened up?

Heard somewhere that NO offensive coaches would be retained. Can't recall where I heard it, but it's not surprising.

I doubt there's much of a chance. PJ is normally his own OC so the other offensive coaches are position coaches.

you are correct, sir!

I don't see Bond coming back. His offense if vanilla. We continue to say Chan held him back but it looked very similar to what he ran the past two seasons at NIU.

I think he might have a difficult time getting a big time d1 job as an OC. The spread in in vogue now and he runs a pro set.

Nice guy not a bad set of plays but the wrong place wrong time.

The only offensive coach that may be retained is Jeep Hunter...as he has experience with the triple option.

would he have another BCS OC offer? i seriously doubt it. i think he is either a QB coach at a GT type school or goes back to the MAC to be an OC. My guess is we pay more and he would be able to learn as Johnson's right hand man.

Why would we want him as OC anyway? What experience does he have with Johnson's offense that would make him an asset? Besides the point that PJ doesn't need an OC.

No one has suggested anywhere he would be an OC but rather a QB coach (and I think I'm the only one that has made that suggestion).

We will not have an OC but I asked since he has worked at Army for four years and has a few years as an OC elsewhere if PJ would consdier him as QB coach?
