We can debate about whether Chadwell would follow a similar path. Actually Chadwell can't follow the Bill Lewis path because we aren't anything like a top 25 team at present.
That year was also Bill Lewis' only season with a winning record as a head coach, with 5 or 6 losing records before then across ECU and Wyoming and then everything that came after. Chadwell isn't without criticism as an option but he's on track to win 3 double digit win seasons in a row. Just isn't a comparison.
The comparison is Bill Lewis was a hell of a DC, supposedly, at UGAg for 7 years. He looked to have it figured out with victories over D1 schools like South Carolina, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, and NC State.
