Are reports of an extension accurate?

ESPN hasn't reported it and a google news search of Chan Gailey revealed only the AJC as citing the extension. I don't generaly trust the AUC.

I'm not saying it isn't happening (in fact it seems more likely that it is), but the two people I talked to at the AA said two different things. I'm qualifying that statment with the fact that both readily admit they don't have good access to such info.

Does anyone know if a press conference has been called or can anyone substantiate a source? Thanks.

As said, based on the info I have, I'm not wild about an extension w/o seeing another W, but the AA has better info and better experience on these matters. If they extend, I'll be an "FoC".

Feeling the same way, as I said earlier, I won't believe it until I see it announced on ramblinwreck, I think its likely to happen, but this timing just seems very very odd.

The timing would be related to

justifying the extension on a winning season record of 6-3 while defeat in the final two games is imminent. An extension after going 6-5 would create a bigger outcry than it will now. Its just another PR stunt to justify a foregone good ole boy deal.

The AA won't get a dime out of me this year... Chan should be ashamed.
