To me this is the most important position we need for next year. A good kicker helps us out TREMENDOUSLY

just a guess but I would imagine it is hard for us to recruit kickers due to the fact that we don't have a soccer team.

I think Scott Blair is going to end up being really good for us. He has the leg but I think he lets it get in his head when he is kicking from 40 or longer.

He can't do it all. We need 1 for kicking and 1 for punting.

When someone says "Are we recruiting any kickers?" that implies that they are wondering about place-kickers, which I think Scott can do.

I think I saw somewhere that Paul Johnson does not like ti "waste a scholarship" on kickers/punters. He thinks he can get away with just using walk-ons. Perhaps I'll show up for tryouts. If worse comes to worse, I get yelled at.

This ain't European football y'all, it's Paul Johnson Americano Football. Whiskey-powered! Kickers? What kickers? We don't need no stinking kickers!

hardly anyone uses a scholly on a HS kicker/punter. You have preferred walk-ons that come in and have to earn a scholarship. That's what Brooks and Bell did. I agree with not wasting a scholly on an unproven kid that can't play anywhere else.

We just gave Scott Blair a scholarship three weeks ago. He is a good kicker who turned down offers elswhere to walk on at GT and win the spot.

He did not count on punting until 6 months prior to the season and did a great job this year with exception of the UGA game. Up until that time he would have placed among the ACC leaders but he did not have enough attempts to qualify!

Plus...you take away the first 4 or 5 FG attempts and he did well. We are having most of the trouble with other elements of the FG kicking process.

Scott's kickoffs are excellent...and he unfortunately had to make a lot of tackles this year.

People would be surprised to know he runs a 4.55 forty and could have played soccer on scholarship at the D1 level as well.

Giving scholarships to kickers out of high school has typically not worked out for us...and we are not alone.
