Are we talking a little too much?

The two teams will meet again in the ACC championship game, Tech's quarterback said shortly after midnight Saturday. And he all but called Boston College's victory a fluke.

"They got lucky one night," Bennett said. "We played our worst game on that same night."

Bennett rejected the 3 hours, 44 minutes of blocking and tackling and throwing and catching that had just taken place and held on to the impressions created through a month and a half of practice and the season's first two games.

"That's not us in the rushing game," Bennett said of Tech's 63 yards on 28 carries. "We just could not run the ball very well, didn't pass it very well. Things were not going our way."

Redshirt freshman receiver Demaryius Thomas saw a couple of reasons for that. One was Boston College's choice of pass coverages. The other? "We're going to have to do a better job with play-calling," Thomas said.

"I'll have to talk with him about that," Gailey said on Sunday.

I think Bennett and Thomas would be better served to keep comments like this out of the papers --probably some frustration there after the loss-- but these comments are senseless. Give credit to your opposition and go get ready for next week. Sounds like CCG will eliminate the liklihood of this happening again.

That is the risk you take of being more open with the press than we were in past years. Reporters are always baiting...trying to get things stirred up so they can sell more of their fish wrappers.

Everyone on this team needs to get bitch slapped with a fat dose of reality. You're not as good as you think you are, and you need to work a lot harder if you want to make it to the ACC championship game.

I like confidence. But I don't like this "its just a fluke" type mentality. These guys have to go at it 120% every play and work hard at practice if they plan on going to the ACC CG, because right now there is NO room for error, and certainly not enough to go blabbering on like this.

Did no one on this team learn from Reggie Ball and his constant mouth? "We will not lose another game this year!"

Shut up, work hard, and play the best game you can. Making excuses is for pussies. BC owned you. Now go back to WORK!

BOR, let's not compare these comments with anything Ball said. I'm just glad to see the team hasn't lost any confidence or swagger. They're not dejected and ready to concede the rest of the season like some posters on here and many on Buzzoff. The bottom line is BC was the better team Saturday night. The refs sucked majorly, but BC was still the better team.

Anybody remember the "We won't lose another game all year" comment by Reggie after an Auburn upset I think...classic.

Didn't they take classes on how to deal with the press in the preseason? Is this what they teach? We got hosed with the money we paid on the class, as well as the Gary Guyton PI.

Pretty immature comments from a mature guy that should be one of the leaders of the offense. It's not a fluke when you get whipped on both lines of scrimmage.

Count me as another that is reminded of Reggie's comments after the 14-13 loss to F$U (preceeding the beatdown at home by Clemson).

Reggie's often misquoted as saying after the FSU loss his freshmen year as saying "we won't lose another game." The quote actually went STTE of "if we execute well and play to the best of our abilities, we shouldn't lose another game."

He jawed way too much, but I'll say that this quote didn't sound quite as bad as people have made it out to be.

I'll disagree with what Thomas said, becasue you don't question your coordinator's playcalling, which really wasn't all that bad. Bennett I'm okay with, you want your quarterback to have that kind of confidence, and if they get beat again, it won't be because of that quote that completely lit a fire under the opponent.
