Army is 3-4 overall.

They lost by 11 pts. to Wake Forest 21-10.

It took 14 fourth quarter points from Boston College to put them away by 20 pts 37-17.

Opponents have:
- Rushed the ball 298 times at 4.0 ypc.
- Passed the ball 214 times at 6.9 ypp.
- 56% rushing plays

Army has:
- Rushed the ball 238 times at 2.3 ypc.
- Passed the ball 234 times at 6.2 ypp.

Total offense is 2,000 yards for Army compared to 2,668 to their opponents.

It does appear that statistically their defense is well ahead of their offense.

The time of possession is even between Army and their opponents.

They have outscored their opponents 60-45 in the second half.

Our defense should in good shape if we come out focused.

I think Army is much better than they've been the last decade. I see an upset coming if we aren't prepared.

Yep. This is certainly a game we have to be ready and prepared for as it could easily sneak up on us and drop us to 4-4.

This is very true.

I am somewhat curious to see what the crowd will be like on Saturday, too.

Some of you still haven't grasped the script yet. We will beat Army and do so rather handily. Then one of two scenarios will occur:

1. Riding a two game winning streak and a bye week we will come in riding high against VT and they will proceed to demolish us.

2. We will find a way to beat VT and subsequently lose to Dook the following week.

I think UNC is a land mine.

I don't even want to watch the VT game. No matter how it turns out, it won't be good for my health.

Here's the script:

Lose to Army (Full on board meltdown) :dunno:

Beat VT (Euphoria, We can still win Coastal)

Beat Duke (Still in it for Coastal, Just Need to Beat UNC & VT to beat UVA)

Lose to UNC (Board meltdown and Of course, VT beats UVA) :angryfire:

Beat UGA (Yeah!!!!!!!!)

Beat NE Poly St. A&M (In Craftmatic Adjustable Bed Bowl by 6 TDs)

This maximizes expectation and disappointment at the same time while leaving Gailey with a defendable record (8-5 w/ win over UGA).

It's called destiny and it tastes like a very dry chicken.

Haha.

And it's not too far-fetched either.

No to maximize disappointment, and still leave Gailey with a defendable 5 loss season, we would have to lose to UGA and in the ACCCG.

I would be more worried if this was away with Tech's players walking into a dead stadium. We simply have much more talent than army and the stadium will be fairly full for the homecoming game. The differences between playing Duke at home and away have been the most striking over the past few years. The home crowd will keep the players from falling into a trap.

I guess I'll be only one of a few people actually enjoying the game and not waiting for the next loss.

My prediction is we blow them away and rest the starters while getting Nebitt more game-time experience.

I almost fell out of my chair, that was funny, because it's true. I'm with u beej. I may have to take a xanax myself.

I take this **** way too seriously. I need to be isolated for games. Or drugged. Nice idea on the Xanax, maybe I can pop a few Meppergan before the game starts, or buy some opium from the quickiemart or something. Keep me from throwing beer mugs through my windows at home.

Last year's newyears resolution at my house was that I was going to "do my best to promote a more tranquil home environment." I'm pretty sure the end of Tech's season last year contributed to the need for a resolution such as that. I need to refocus on it.
