That said, assuming that we have just beaten BC 24-13 in Jacksonville, I am prepared for a month long debate on how we match up with W. Virginia in the OB.
We can win out. If we do, we won't be ranked higher than 8th.
I don't think we would play anyone other than WVU. Surely it wouldn't be Rutgers!?!
 
I don't see any reason to think we would play the Big East champ. Orange Bowl picks next-to-last and will probably end up with an at-large team.

Possibly a ND rematch???
 
It won't be Rutgers, probably the winner of WV-UL, unless by some chance they are undefeated AND end up in the NC game. Rather unlikely (the latter, anyway) but possible.
Bring on ND, I'd love to beat the Irish in a bowl game again.
 
If we do get that far, It will not be Notre Dame. They will be one of the higher "picked" teams unless they wind up with 4 or more losses.
 
Unless they're top 8 I don't think they can be picked. Isn't that right?
 
Correct - ND has to be top 8 in the BCS to be picked. Also recall there are 10 BCS spots this year, so more at-large or small conference possibilities.

If Boise State keeps winning they are likely to get the new non-BCS conference champ spot. That's bad news for the Fiesta Bowl if it happens, since they pick last.

The Sugar Bowl picks ahead of the Orange and would almost certainly take ND if eligible.

It seems most likely the Orange will end up with an at-large team like Southern Cal or Tennessee.

This would be very cool. If, if, if this is to be our first BCS game, I would like to play and beat a traditional program.
Maybe the loser of Meechagan / OSU could stumble (really stumble!) one more time.

Agree, don't think it will happen but I sure do wish we could have a rematch. Although I think Weis is a decent coach, ND seems a bit overrated this year.
